National Agriculture And Food Analysis And Research Institute

Established since 2002 and is promoted by Consortium of Food Industry & Trade (COFIT) and Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) Pune, with support by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (GOI), SIDBI, NABARD, UNIDO. NAFARI is an autonomous, not for profit sharing organization, registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013. The Institute is recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India for In-house R&D unit. Approved “PAN India Training Partner” of “FoSTaC” under Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to conduct mandatory Food Safety Supervisor Training Programs. Vocational Training Partner affiliated by the Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative (FICSI), a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) created body with Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce And Industry (FICCI). NAFARI is also recognized as a Host Institution / Business Incubator under NMCP Program by DC – MSME, Ministry of MSME, GOI.

NAFARI provides 360ºC services to the food industry & its supply chain including Food Analysis, Training & Education, and Consultancy Services related to Product / Process Development etc. These services are provided not only to the region near Pune, but are also made available across India & also to NAFARI clients from overseas. NAFARI has established a rich network with various Universities & Colleges, organizations, Industry, Supply chain of Raw Materials, Processed Materials, Machinery & other Auxiliary needs of the Food Processing Industries and the clients have been receiving these services with high level of satisfaction.

Objectives

NAFARI is as a prominent Entrepreneurs Assistance Centre in Food Sector through its New Product, Process, and development services. The Institute is professionally managed by a Governing Council. It also has been operating as a Meso-organization, and implementing Small Industries Development bank of India’s Project- Business Development Services capability development for Fruit and Vegetable processing Cluster in Pune region, for technical, human resource development and consultancy services.

  • To develop strong alliance among Industry, Government and Institutes/Academic which would catalyse multidisciplinary and collaborative research in area of food and nutrition. Translating research on improving quality and nutrition of product.
  • To build state-of-the-art infrastructure with comprehensive program in testing and inspection for food and agricultural products that encompasses food safety and consumer protection.
  • To enable Graduate and Post Graduate students of various Universities to carry out high level research work by providing facilities and guidance on related technology aspects.
  • To build capability of human resources through varied well developed practical oriented training and skill development programs in line with the needs of the Food Industry, networking and supplement such courses by aligning relations with prominent Institutions and bodies in the region.
